Unemployment Assistance

Disaster Unemployment Program (www.labor.state.ny.us) - Covers individuals unemployed as a direct result of the attacks who would otherwise not be eligible for unemployment (e.g., those who did not have a job but became head of household as a result of September 11th) - must be rejected for regular unemployment - filing deadline Jan. 16th. 1-888-209-8124

Workers' Compensation Survivor Benefits (www.wcb.state.ny.us) - Ongoing payments to spouse and dependent children; funeral expenses; one-time payment to deceased's surviving parents or deceased's estate if there is no surviving spouse or dependent children. 1-800-877-1373
