About the 9-11 Healing and Remembrance Program (In Their Own Words)

The 9-11 Healing and Remembrance program is a program of the Mental Health Association of New York City. The Mental Health Association of New York City has been there for the 9-11 community since September 11th, 2001, serving as a “voice” for the mental health needs of those affected by the disaster since the attacks. (See their “stats” for more information.) The major goal of the program is to foster healing through information and support to those affected by the events of 9-11.

The Mental Health Association of New York City is collaborating with several community agencies that have historically provided supports to the victims of 9-11. They are:

  • The Mayor’s Office of the City of New York
  • The New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
  • The New York Community Trust
  • The American Red Cross
  • The United Way and others
