About Loretta Kowal Loretta Kowal was a clinical social worker who spent her professional life fighting for the rights and welfare of children and others who had suffered tragedy and loss. A founding board member of The Massachusetts 9/11 Fund, she was an essential member of the Fund’s Professional Advisory Committee. Loretta had a vital role in shaping the Fund’s essential commitment to local families affected by the tragic terrorist attacks of September 11th and she tirelessly volunteered countless hours of her time to the organization, making sure that each family she worked with received specialized attention and care. The Fund was deeply saddened by her death on March 27, 2005 from cancer.
Loretta is survived by two sons, David and Robert. We are honored to keep her spirit with us through these scholarships. |
