Support Available and Today's Remembrance Events

Dear Families,

We are writing to let you know that we remain committed to supporting you through what we can only imagine to be a very overwhelming time as we all adjust to the news of the fall of Osama bin Laden. We understand that over the next days and weeks, many of you will be experiencing a range of emotions - positive and negative - all of which are completely understandable.

The MA 9/11 Fund has retained the services of Diane Nealon, LICSW, to support any family member who may need some supportive listening and mental health referrals. You may reach Ms. Nealon through her cell number at 617-942-1484. In addition, the Fund is coordinating the first of several opportunities for family members to come together and reflect on these events. This first opportunity will likely be scheduled sometime next week or so. Alyse Mazerolle will announce the details of that event as soon as they are finalized.

Finally, please know that today, May 2, at 3:15 pm, we will gather at the 9/11 Memorial in the Boston Public Garden to observe a moment of silence to remember each of your beloved family members. In addition, we will be placing a single white rose for each name represented on the Memorial. You are more than welcome to join us, but please do not feel obligated. We do expect the media will be present. Our goal is simply to let you all know how much our thoughts and prayers are with you.

With warmest regards,
The Board of Directors
Massachusetts 9/11 Fund, Inc.
