Thanks to many generous donors, the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund was founded in December 2001. We are a non-profit corporation devoted to supporting the families with ties to Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island who lost loved ones in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. This support comes in the form of direct services, information and referral, community building and advocacy. For the general public, the organization provides an annual Commemoration of 9/11/01, and constructed and maintains a contemplative garden in the Boston Public Garden dedicated to the victims with Massachusetts ties. The Fund partners with many organizations, and works collaboratively with government, business and civic leaders to strengthen the determination of the surviving families to go forward and achieve their individual goals. For more information, please visit our Programs and Services page. Our History page provides you with some personal views of the origin of the Fund, and a place where you can learn more about our founding.

The Fund is governed by a community Board of Directors. A Family Advisory Committee, comprised of twelve family members, works closely with the staff and the Board, maintaining an active and ongoing dialogue.
